Offshore Oil & Gas Operations Across the Gulf of Mexico Shelf

Arena Offshore currently operates more than 30 offshore oil and gas fields on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf, comprising approximately 120 platforms and over 300 producing wells. We typically drill 20-30 wells per year, and have operated more than 200 offshore drill wells in the federal waters of the Gulf.

In our history, Arena Offshore has established a reputation for excellence in drilling and operating offshore oil and gas wells on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf. Explore some of our proudest accomplishments below—success stories that have helped make us a leader in this basin.

Arena Offshore acquired the GA 209 field from Exxon in 2019. GA 209 was initially developed as a gas field in 1990, but in 1997 shallower oil reservoirs were developed. Prior to Arena’s acquisition there had been no drilling activity in this field since 2002. To date, the field has produced over 26 MMBO and 300 BCF.

In 2021, Arena Offshore initiated a drilling campaign utilizing the White Fleet Drilling 250 rig. This drilling program consisted of a total of 10 wells (8 from B Platform and 2 from A Platform). These new wells redeveloped the LL15 and OO10 sands in addition to adding new reserves in the MM series sands.

EI 231, EI 238 and EI 276 fields were acquired from Chevron by Arena Offshore in 2016. Along with EI 251, an existing Arena asset, these fields make up the Eugene Island Complex. Combining these properties into one complex allows for centralized processing, better operational flexibility and lower operating cost.

Since 2019, Arena has initiated multiple drilling campaigns at EI 276 F, EI 237L, EI 251 A and EI 252 L. These campaigns have targeted redevelopment of existing reservoirs along with new untested accumulations.

The South Timbalier Complex is made up of ST 36, ST 37 and ST 52 fields and were acquired from Chevron by Arena Offshore in 2016. This complex has produced almost 200 MMBO and over 1 TCF of gas. Arena Offshore has conducted several successful drilling campaigns between 2017 and 2023.

Our past drilling results along with an extensive field study have identified multiple future development and exploration opportunities.

Arena Offshore purchased the southern half of the EI 314 block from Exxon in 2011 after obtaining the northern half in Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 213. Since then, Arena has drilled numerous development wells from the EI 314 C platform. Because of the success of the development program, six additional slots were retrofitted to the “C” platform.

Arena Offshore has partnered with Chevron to redevelop a large oilfield in the Eugene Island area where several platforms were lost in hurricanes Rita and Ike. The new production/drilling platform was installed in 2012 and designed to endure 1,000-year storm conditions, well above and beyond the minimum regulatory requirements for the Gulf of Mexico. The drilling of the 20 development wells was finished by mid-2015, with the platform producing at near-capacity rates.

Additional successful development and exploratory drilling campaigns were conducted in 2018 and 2023.
